The construction of the new international lines of Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport was started by Limak-GMR Ordinary Partnership on May 1, 2008 and while the investment period was 30 months, it was put into service on October 31, 2009, corresponding to 18 months. Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, which has won many awards with its architecture, construction quality and management in a short time, was selected as one of the 5 safest airports in the world as a result of research conducted by Risk Management Magazine, one of the most prestigious magazines in the United States, in 2010.
