Today, in response to the increasing demand for energy, energy consumption has risen, and sourcing raw materials to supply energy has become significantly more challenging. When the energy sector is mentioned, oil reserves are often the first to come to mind. The oil sector is composed of two main processes. The first process involves exploration and production activities, known as the "upstream" process. The second is the post-production process, which includes transportation, refining, storage, and distribution activities, collectively referred to as the "downstream" process. The exploration phase, forming the initial link in this chain, includes geological, geophysical, and drilling activities aimed at discovering oil and natural gas.
Not only in oil but also in general energy consumption, there has been an increase in our country linked to economic growth. The growing energy demand necessitates changes in energy policies and strategies, leading to a search for alternative energy sources. Coal and natural gas emerge as alternative energy types that can replace oil in this pursuit.
Ayhanlar Holding is one of Turkey's leading companies in the energy sector. Established in 1983 by Abdulkadir Ayhan in the Gebze/Istanbul location, it began its journey in the sector. While it is well-known for its contributions to the energy and coal sectors, its initial area of activity was actually the construction sector. Ayhanlar Holding undertook all asphalt work for the Formula 1 tracks. Additionally, it was responsible for the construction of aprons and surrounding roads at Sabiha Gökçen Airport. The company has demonstrated its expertise in road construction by building a total of 2,500 kilometers of roads to date. It operates in four regions across Turkey, with the goal of expanding this number to seven while maintaining its commitment to quality.
The company is also ambitious in residential construction, announcing a project in Kartal to build 250 housing units. Liman AVM, the first shopping center in Bandırma, is another example of the holding’s expertise.
